So I just tried this shampoo for the 1st time, it’s sulfate, gluten and paraben free, its vegan and says its moisturizing, I decided to give this a go because my cousin highly recommended it.
Pro’s
- It’s easily the most moisturizing shampoo I’ve ever used
- vegan and natural
-leaves your hair feeling incredibly soft and conditioned
- it’s super thick and creamy
Cons
- Due to it not having stripping sulfates, it may take more lathers to get your hair completely clean, then again it may have been due to me not rubbing aggressively in the first two lathers
- you don’t get as much bubbles and suds as you do with a more stripping shampoo
UPDATE: Upon subsequent uses of this shampoo I’ve found all my my Con’s to be false, you get an awesome lather and bubbles all over the place, this shampoo is perfect, you get clean yet moisturized hair, I cannot think of any cons to using this shampoo.
Overall I’m in love! It’s really gentle and moisturizing on my hair, and gets it completely clean without making my hair feel stripped bare, I think I’ll be sticking to this because it’s better for my hair overall to get an infusion of moisture like this. When I finish washing I feel like I’ve already put conditioner in my hair! Couldn’t be happier with this product.
Hey yall! So today I will be featuring a client of mine, she is well known on the hair boards for her gorgeous lush ultra long texlaxed hair. She decided after a horrible relaxer mishap to go natural once and for all, and she came to me to get her hair loc’d! At first we thought we’d be doing my temporary loc extensions on her, so the pictures where her hair looked brand new and you can see the parts are of that time, then she came back to add more locs for fullness and by that time, after living the carefree locd up lifestyle, she decided that this would be her permanent signature look, and I must say, it was a smart choice, she looks amazing! A true LocStar. Enjoy the pictures!

Thanks for reading! I’m over the moon about the way this look came together. What do you think of this style?
With the knowledge I’ve accumulated over the many years of my natural journey, my experience as a stylist, and my innate enthusiasm for the subject, when I see someone handling their hair improperly, I always feel compelled to say something and steer them the right way.
Lucky for me, my hair serves as a buffer for doubt that folks may have about my knowledgeability on the subject so like literally 99% of the time my tips are welcomed. When I see someone abusing their hair I just feel a physiological need to inform them and steer them the right way lol so to all my lovely readers, how do you handle these kinds of situations? Does it even effect you when you see someone that has unhealthy hair practices?
Hey yall! I’m here to do a product RAVE. I remember loving Affirm 5 in 1 reconstructor from my relaxed days, and I always wondered if it would work as well on my natural hair. Well thanks to one of my lovely clients I was given the BIG bottle of Affirm 5 in 1 as a gift since she felt she wouldn’t need to use it now that she has locs.
I had it sitting around for quite a while and for whatever reason I decided to give it a whirl last weekend. I did my typical routine. I slathered the treatment on my twists, tied a plastic bag around my head, then tied a towel around that, and let it sit, I was being lazy so I let it sit for like 2 hours inadvertently lol. The results were nothing short of astounding. The label says that it works to strengthen, lay the hairs cuticle down and limit porosity, and from the feel of my hair afterwards, I must say it delivered!
I havent felt my hair this smooth and supple since I went and got the color done last year, heck maybe even before that! I will definitely be sticking to this and Aphogee (review to come) for the foreseeable future. I’m really happy with this!
This is a simple post, found some throwback pics from November 2010, where my colored natural hair was pressed that were really cute and I thought I’d share, check em out!
