So my mom got us the MaxiGlideMP I was soooo excited I opened it like a child on christmas day I just had a feeling that this was going to work out amazing on my hair and I was totally right.

This state of the art flat iron is a testament to the fact that sometimes it really is worth it to invest in a high quality hair styling tool. If you’re unfamiliar with the Maxiglide it is a ceramic flat iron that has detangling teeth within it and uses steam to straighten and seal in moisture in the process.

I can honestly say now that I’ve tried this, that the promises they make are the truth, I was even able to get my 4b hair line straight using just this flat iron! The detangling teeth are the TRUTH yall!! I simply blowdried with the Andis blowdryer, then went straight to using the maxiglide.

Here are my day 1 results from using the Maxiglide:

So I initially set it around 5 or 6 and my thick coarse strands laughed that that, so I’ve settled on using it on 8 or 9. My hair was soooooo weightless and I had never had that level of silkiness to my hair, it was wonderful. It seemed that it didn’t matter how much product I used, it would still end up weightless shiny and incredibly soft, it felt like the cuticles of my hair shaft were really laying down flat.

Here’s my day 2 hair idk why but this holiday break was just back to back blues and turquoise tones for me, guess I was feelin that! lol

This is my hair by the time I got home at the end of the night. The only part that reverted was the very bottom of my nape area. I was really impressed.

BMPers, I’d like to introduce you to a past love of mine we were recently reunited……the Andis Colorwaves 1875 Watt Tourmaline-Ionic Blow Dryer!!!

This is an excellent blowdryer that allows type 4’s like me to skip the hotcomb step and go straight to flat ironing which is awesome and time saving. Here’s a before and after with this blowdryer with the comb attachment on my hair:

After the Andis Blowdryer: Smooth very straight, very few shed hairs and really fast drying time.

I was really pleased with the results, it dries your hair quickly but doesnt leave it feeling dried out. It leaves your hair feeling very smooth, I felt it helped my hair’s cuticle lay down my hair was light bouncy and very straight for just a blowdryer. It has a very powerful stream of air and it is very loud, however it gets the job done and does it well. This product gets 5 stars from me.

I got the infamous MaxiGlide MP!! Woohooo!! I am absolutely head over heels in love. I’ll be describing in detail my experience with it in my next post but suffice it to say I am extremely pleased with my results from these two products.

The second thing I got was an Andis 1875 Tourmaline Ionic Blowdryer. Its the best I’ve ever owned thus far. I had this previously and loved it but it broke and I was using the Hot Tools one in the interrum. I’m glad I have it again this one is a keeper and I’m sticking to it. This time I learned my lesson and the moment I opened the box to both of these tools I registered it to activate the warranty.

Yaaay!

I used the Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Moisturizing cream for the first time and it is hands down the best moisturizer I’ve ever used, it gave my hair wonderful slip and had *just* the right amount of oil, I lost very little hair and combing was a breeze. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Hey lovely BMPers!! I straightened my hair again with the intention of taking fresh progress pix and getting a trim this weekend, well I didnt have time to get that trim and I’ve decided that my splits will for the most part resolve themselves, they usually do lol

I washed with NourishSpa Shampoo/Conditioner. Then I applied LeKair Cholesterol to my hair generously put on my plastic cap and Deep Conditioned with heat for about 35 minutes I enjoyed some tea and Italian bread in the meantime.

These are my tools: hot tools blowdryer, hot tools hot comb, conair ceramic flat iron, ordinary spray bottle, ic fantasia heat protectant spray & serum, tape, fine toothed comb.

I taped a fine toothed comb to the side of my flat iron on the base loosely to make the comb chase method easier to implement…it worked flawlessly.

Look @ how straight I get it with nothing but a press n flat iron! The funny thing is, I sweat when I sleep, but it seems as long as my hair is pin curled…..I’m good to go and my hair will look fresh and lovely until my next wash.

Hey yall!! I wanted to share with you my Halloween hair style and my cute as can be costume as a bonus.

For my costume I knew I wanted to be, my favorite animal: a Cheetah. My mom knows how to sew so she agreed that she’d make it for me. We searched high and low and couldn’t find the right fabric or material, finally we stumbled upon these fuzzy leopard PJ’s in a store that my mom said would be perfect at first I gave her attitude and the side eye but eventually I came around and began to see the potential in it and fell in love. Here’s what the pajamas looked like initially:

I did Bantu Knots on already pressed and flatironed hair the night before and left them in for as long as possible so I unraveled them as the last step before I put my costume on.
