How I plan to Lighten My Hair Gradually, with Limited Damage

I found out about this process/product from a helpful poster on on a hair forum. Its called Clairol Luminize and its said to be a gentle conditioning lightener. It lifts hair one level per use so its very gradual.

I really did thorough research on it and it really seems to be the real deal and not particularly harsh on the hair

Now that I’m wearing and enjoying this afro extension style with auburn and copper highlights on the crown and brown underneath….I think I’m ready for the real deal and ready to do this on my own natural hair. I need a change and its time for me to step out of my box.

It will be scary as I’m used to always being super conservative with my hair and not having to do much to/with it….but I really want a change and to challenge myself to step outside the box.

I’m gonna go for it….wish me luck everyone! I’m buying it today!

No you’re not going for it. Your going to use the jarrah honey!!!! and I’m going to see your hair all naturally pretty and light and then I’m going to do it too!!!

I think you may regret that clairol thing. Take into consideration the overlapping and how the “limited” damage will overlap as well!!!

Giiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirl. I dont know about this one!

LOL thanks for your concern hun, I totally understand where you’re coming from. However, you can avoid overlapping my allowing a considerable amount of time between color touch-ups like three month intervals. There are quite a few sista’s that have had tremendous success using this gradual hair lightener. The top two best reviewed colors for our hair are Aveda and this.

The only reason I didn’t use this was I was too impatient to wait several applications for my hair to reach the desired color…I wanted it yesterday lol and I got it.

I actually still highly recommend this as a permanent hair lightener, its gentle and gradual, you just have to be sure that your hair is in good condition prior and you have to be ready to step up your hair care regimen to incorporate more protien and more moisture.

I did probably a years worth of research and this really is a great option for ladies both relaxed and natural that need a color change. In my opinion.
