Natural Texture Softeners that Can Help You Stretch your Relaxers

By NO MEANS will these treatments give you the same results as a relaxer….but they have been widely reported to loosen hair texture temporarily which would aid in stretching relaxers. Some may work better for you then others depending on your hair type and condition of your hair.

– Coconut milk/2 limes/plain yogurt 1 tablespoon of extra virgin oilve oil (this can be done as often as you like) this can be left on over night or for a few hours whichever you like best.

– Henna (recommended to do once a month I’ll elaborate on its benefits in a seperate post)

– MSM (supplement to be taken each day I’ll have a post dedicated to Growth Boosting supplements)

    What is MSM?
I am currently going back to natural hair but I do not want to cut off my hair yet. I am on my fifth month with out a perm. I always had strong hair and did not get my first till about 5 years ago. I have always permed my 2-3 times a year. I have been currently using bantu knots for the transition. I want to keep my length with health growth so I am asking your advice lol

Congratulations on your transition! MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is a supplement you can find at any vitamin shop or health food store that is said to boost growth and improve the health of the hair. I’ve heard the best things about the powder.

I feel you on wanting to keep the length, I was the same when I transitioned. I wish you th best of luck! Just be patient, take good care of your hair, pay attention to what it likes and dislikes and before you know it you will have long healthy natural hair 🙂
